I ran track and cross country  in high school. In 2016 I finished off my high school career running my first marathon, the Utah Valley Marathon. Sense then I've ran a few half marathons but haven't been running consistently. This summer I'm hoping to get back into running and PR at the St George Marathon this fall.

We were supposed to have the Cache Box invitational today and tomorrow but it got canceled due to the weather. I was a little disappointed and it was hard mentally to readjust to not racing. I guess Coach Nielson decided we should still do a hard workout even though we couldn't race. We did 3 miles at I-pace with a 3-4 minute break between each mile. My miles were supposed to be 6:12. My first and second miles were 6:14's. It was a little frustrating because I felt like I was going all out but my times were still a little slow. My third mile I came in right at 6:12 but after that I was really tired and decided to not do another, I did a 2 mile cool down. It felt good but the workout felt harder than just racing a mile.

2x 3,200 at T-pace (around 6:44 mile) This was our last workout before springbreak it was hard, especially running 4 miles on the track.

4 miles at 6:12 pace. I was nervous about this workout because it was really hard when I did it last week and I wanted to hit my times this week. I didn't hit my times very well (6:18, 6:10, 6:14, 6:18) but I did do 4 which was more than last time.

It was raining and snowing all day so I postponed my run. Eventually I decided to do a trail run and drove up Logan Canyon. I started running and found that maybe a trail run wasn't the best idea, 50% of the trail was snow and the other 50 was mud. The weather made the run more difficult but it was still fun, I hadn't run that trail for a while.

Our workout today was 4x1,000 at i-pace. It was hard to do a track workout after spring break. My 1,000's were supposed to be around 3:55, the first one was 3:58, then a 3:55. The third one I ran with Jesse Dunn and I wasn't checking my watch I was just trying to keep up with him. The third 1,000 was around 3:46 and then I was really tired for my fourth one wich was a 3:58. It was  a hard workout but felt good. After I did a 3 mile cool down through the river trail.

Mile warm up and stretches, 3x mile at a hard pace. I ran these on a course that started with a steep hill and then continued onto more flat and rolling hills. My times were 7:24, 6:55, 6:47. I really liked this workout and will probably use it again.

The best day of the year, the Logan Fun Run. Every year the track team brings some kids to run with the 4th and 5th graders at their annual mile fun run. There is lots of heats so we usually end up running a lot but the kids make it fun. I wasn't feel very good and had to take ibuprofen but the run was still a blast.

7 miles with Mark up Logan Canyon. My legs were tired from running 13 miles yesterday but the run was really fun.

Today was graduation and after I had planned a night run with another girl but she didn't show up. So I ran 3 miles on the deer fence in the dark which is  actually really pretty. I think I'll start doing more night runs.

I haven't been this tired from a run for a long time. I ran to Cross Country practice and from there we ran up to Lundstrum Park. It is up hill most of the way to Lundstrum and I was running with the varsity boys at a good pace. We weren't going really fast but we went far which made it really hard. When we got to Lundstrum Mark wanted to go another mile and we agreed even though we were all dieing. My run home wasn't much more than a jog because I was so tired.

I was so tired from yesterday, runnig 12 miles after only running for three days is not a good idea.

For Cross Country Johnny and I took the team to a park and we played ultimate frisbee. It was really fun and helped me get to know the team. My body was still sore from Wednesday so I didn't feel like doing a ton of miles.

Today we ran to First Dam for Cross Country. I ran with the freshman for two miles and tried to keep them running. After we got back to the school I went out to First Dam again and ran back with  another freshman who had gotten a little farther.

I went to Cross Country and ran the river trail loop. We didn't go very fast but I felt tired and the run felt harder than it should have been. That added up to around 7 miles. Later that night there was a full moon so I went out for another three miles which was really pretty.

I felt tired and wasn't too worried about getting in mileage because I knew I would be running a lot this weekend. So I just did a couple of miles slow and a mile with my dog.

For Cross Country we ran to a park and played some games with the team which were really fun. Then I ran with Mark and Johnny to  get in a couple more miles. On our way back we stopped by Jerrell's house and we ran with him for 5 miles.

I joined the Campbells and ran the Sawtooth relay in Idaho. My first leg was around 6 miles and I ran them at 7 min pace, which I felt good about. My second leg was 5 miles. The first mile was slightly downhill and I ended up running those miles at 6:44 pace. This was the first relay I've ever done and it was really fun.
